Chevrolet New York

There are Chevrolet dealers all over the Empire State.  You can hardly swing a cat without hitting a Chevy dealer.  Of course, I don't know why you're going around swinging cats instead of getting to your nearest Chevrolet New York dealer and test driving some of the great new, American-made cars.

Chevrolet New YorkJust like Dodge New York, Chevrolet is trying to regain the American market.  To do that, they are using the slogan "An American Revolution" and have been coming out with creative and innovative new models, whether you are looking for a car, truck, SUV or van.

Ever since the advent of the V8 small block engine in the 1955 Chevy Bel Air, Chevrolet has been practically synonomous with street performance.  The names Corvette, Camaro, Corvair, Malibu, and more, read like a who's who of automotive power.  Chevrolet is now introducing a new Camaro "concept" car that looks pretty nice (see photo).

This 400 h.p. powerhouse will have a 6 liter small-block aluminum engine, and a six-speed manual transmission with widely-spaced gear ratios.  With that much power, it's good the thing also comes with high-performance, four-wheel vented disc brakes with 14-inch rotors.  The muscle car is reborn!

In the SUV category, Chevy has a new vehicle called the HHR.  I don't know what that stands for.  It's a mini-SUV that looks like a beefed-up P.T. Cruiser.  In other words... lame.

The Avalanche, in the Truck category, is less gay than it used to be, but still not perfect.  It's got some options for a bigger engine, but there's just something about it that seems fruity.

Of course, the Suburban is bigger than before, updated for the new year.  That thing is a monster, and you can get it in 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton towing capacity.
